Company: St. James Winery Job Type: Full-Time / Part-Time About the Role At St. James Winery, we offer guests more than just a drink—we provide a welcoming, educational, and enjoyable wine experience in the heart of Branson. We are seeking a friendly, knowledgeable, and service-driven Winery Bartender / Tasting Room Associate to join our team. This role focuses on wine service, guest engagement, and light cocktail preparation, while helping guests explore our wine selection and enhance their visit. What You’ll Do Wine Service & Guest Experience Serve wine tastings and full pours in a professional and engaging manner Educate guests on different wines, including flavor profiles, origins, and styles Guide guests through tastings and help them find wines they enjoy Provide recommendations based on guest preferences Wine Knowledge & Pairings Develop a strong understanding of all wines offered by the winery Explain wine characteristics such as sweetness, body, and finish Recommend food and wine pairings to enhance the guest experience Answer guest questions confidently and accurately Bartending & Beverage Service Prepare and serve basic cocktails, wine-based drinks, and other beverages Follow all recipes, portioning, and presentation standards Ensure responsible alcohol service at all times Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area Sales & Retail Support Promote wine purchases, bottles, and retail items Encourage guests to take home products and recommend favorites Assist with transactions and operate the point-of-sale (POS) system Support overall revenue goals through excellent service and product knowledge Guest Interaction & Hospitality Create a welcoming and enjoyable environment for all guests Engage with visitors and provide a memorable tasting experience Maintain a friendly, approachable, and professional demeanor Handle guest questions or concerns with professionalism Local Knowledge (Preferred) Provide general recommendations for the Branson area Share insight on local attractions, dining, and entertainment when appropriate Enhance the guest experience by connecting wine visits with the broader Branson experience What We’re Looking For Previous bartending, serving, or hospitality experience preferred Interest in or knowledge of wine (training provided; wine experience a plus) Strong communication and customer service skills Ability to learn and retain product knowledge Comfortable working in a fast-paced, guest-focused environment Ability to handle cash and operate POS systems Must meet legal requirements for serving alcohol Key Skills for Success Wine knowledge and enthusiasm Customer engagement and storytelling Sales and recommendation skills Attention to detail and presentation Teamwork and reliability Schedule Flexible scheduling (full-time and part-time available) Must be available for weekends and holidays Peak hours aligned with tourism seasons Why Join St. James Winery?
