Breakside is currently hiring a bartender for our Lake Oswego taproom. This location is in the high-traffic downtown area of Lake Oswego and features an extensive whiskey selection in addition to our world-class Breakside beers. We also serve a small food menu of seasonal sandwiches and salads. These items are prepared in a minimal kitchen nook at the end of the bar by the bartenders. Applicants are not required to have both bar and kitchen experience, but those who do may be preferred. Summary of Position: A Breakside Teammate is a comprehensive position that wraps all traditional front-of-house roles into one. Breakside is committed to a team-focused service approach where all staff members are able to support each other interchangeably at different stations within the restaurant. Teammates provide friendly, responsive service to create an exceptional dining experience while preparing the highest quality beverages for our guests. Each Teammate's primary objective is to connect with guests and create a memorable experience that will make guests want to return again and again. Duties & Responsibilities: Warmly and graciously greet all guests upon arrival. Make all our guests feel comfortable and let them know you re there to assist them. When possible, open the front door for guests entering or leaving the restaurant. Answer phone calls promptly and with a warm greeting. When immediate seating is limited, record guest information, provide them with an estimated waiting time, and direct them to the waiting area. Accommodate special seating requests when possible. Notify guests when their table is ready. Answer questions about our food, beverages, and other restaurant functions and services. Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks consistently with the standard recipes. Record food and beverage orders accurately and enter into the POS system immediately afterwards. Deliver food and beverages from kitchen and bar to guests in a timely manner. Monitor and observe guests' dining experience. Ensure guests are satisfied with the food and service. Respond promptly and courteously to any requests. Accept guest payment, process credit card charges and make change (if applicable). Change kegs and organize the beer fridge when necessary. Take used tableware to dish pit and unload, sort and stack silverware, dishes, plasticware, etc. in designated areas. Take glassware to the bar dishwasher. Wash and put away glassware. Between seating separate parties, promptly clean/sanitize table tops, chairs (highchairs) and booths. Check the floor and clean as required. Maintain cleanliness in all areas of the bar/restaurant. Assist the restocking and replenishment of restaurant inventory and supplies. Inspect, clean, and stock restrooms at regular intervals. Report all equipment problems and maintenance issues to MOD. Be available to fill in as needed to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the restaurant as directed by the restaurant manager or immediate supervisor. General cleaning duties. Attend all scheduled employee meetings and bring suggestions for improvement. Perform other related duties as assigned by manager-on-duty.
