Yates Company, LLC is seeking a BAS Controls Installer responsible for the installation of building automation systems. The work is performed under the guidance of the Project Manager. All work performed by the Controls Installer must meet the requirements of the contract documents, company documentation standards and the project schedule. The Installer position requires substantial work bending conduit and pulling wire, which involves measuring, cutting, and bending conduit pipes to specific angles for a job layout. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Install systems within estimated project plan hours. Send daily performance reports to project manager by close of business. Meet expected schedules and deadlines. Capable of and accountable for assisting the project manager during weekly progress meetings. Have the ability to bend ½ and ¾ EMT (90°, offset, saddle), pull wire, terminate wire, label wire, and panels. Installers must have knowledge of wiring up end devices, relays, and switch-plug combos. Installer will be responsible for having an all-encompassing understanding of the project they are working on. Installer will be expected to understand the contents of their project submittal and the mechanical plans. Complete and oversee installation team on tasks assigned by the Project Manager and run multiple sites with from start to finish of the project. Run and oversee new construction work, as well as being able to complete large retrofit projects. Have basic hand-tools, cordless drill, impact driver, and drill bits. Work with a sense of urgency and effort. Be reliable to management and co-workers. Have the ability to set up and diagnose terminal units and AHUs CHW Plants, HW Plants, Lighting equipment and other mechanical equipment pertaining to project. Can troubleshoot components; i.e., valves and instruments end devices. Can install and checkout and troubleshoot control modules and end devices Required Qualifications High school diploma or GED equivalent. Ability to read blueprints and schematics Basic computer skills Strong work ethic Exceptional quality of craftsmanship and customer satisfaction Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to project sites as required. Preferred Qualifications Basic electrical knowledge Mechanical systems knowledge Completion of formal trade school Working Environment Work is performed in primarily commercial, industrial, institutional buildings, or other construction areas including outdoors environments with constant exposure to noise, dust, fumes, noxious odors, gases, mechanical and electrical hazards, metal shavings, moving objects, sharp edges, and temperature extremes. Physical Demands Frequent and repeated hand and arm movement to manipulate tools and related objects. Frequent lifting up to 50 pounds individually, and team lifting heavier items. Standing and walking for extended periods of time. Frequent climbing of steps, ladders, and in/out/onto vehicles. Regularly bending, stooping, crawling, kneeling, reaching, and crouching. Visual acuity to drive motor vehicles. Hearing capacity to receive, perceive, and reach to common driving and working environment noises.
