SUMMARY Alis Behavioral Health is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) to join our adolescent Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) and Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP). The BHT will be crucial in supporting the therapeutic environment, ensuring patient safety, and upholding our patients' and guests' dignity and respect. A member of the Alis team will consistently demonstrate Alis Behavioral Health’s values and mission statement. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES Support the Therapeutic Milieu: Work collaboratively with the Clinical staff and other treatment team members to support the therapeutic milieu within the outpatient adolescent IOP/PHP program. Facilitates therapeutic groups as identified in PHP/IOP guidelines Supervise and Maintain Patient Safety: Provide continuous supervision of patients to ensure their safety and well-being throughout the treatment program. Promptly intervene in any situation that may compromise patient safety. Ensure Consistent Program Delivery: Assist in implementing and maintaining the program schedule to ensure consistency and adherence to treatment protocols. Help facilitate group activities and therapeutic sessions as directed. Safeguard Dignity and Respect: Uphold the highest standards of dignity and respect for all patients and guests. Foster a supportive and non-judgmental atmosphere conducive to healing and recovery. Data Entry: Perform accurate and timely data entry tasks related to patient records, program attendance, and other administrative duties as assigned. Celebrations for Staff and Clients: Coordinate and participate in celebrations and recognition events for both staff and clients, fostering a positive and supportive environment. Team Building Coordination: Organize team-building activities and events to promote camaraderie and collaboration among staff members. Coordination: Coordinate the above responsibilities effectively, ensuring smooth operations and efficient communication among team members. Documentation: Completes all required documentation according to policies and procedures and ensures that daily clinical notes document the client's progress in meeting their treatment goals. OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES Completes all responsibilities as assigned by manager of clinical services or leadership. Attends and participates in regularly scheduled staff meetings. Takes an active role in quality improvement activities as assigned. KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS High school diploma or equivalent (bachelor's degree in psychology, social work, or related field preferred). Prior experience working in a behavioral health setting, preferably with adolescents. Basic understanding of mental health disorders, treatment modalities, and therapeutic interventions. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to remain calm and composed in challenging situations. Strong observational skills and attention to detail. Completes initial orientation and competency requirements as follows: Current NPI, if applicable (Bachelor degree) Annual flu shot and documentation Initial Competency Review Annual mandatory reporting training Annual diversity & inclusion training Annual de-escalation training Current and updated CPR training ADA compliance training HIPPA privacy training Annual sexual harassment training Pain Scale Training Zero Suicide Training Maintain liability insurance, if appropriate PHYSICAL DEMANDS Required to sit, stand, bend, stoop, walk, climb stairs and possibly for extended periods. Required to lift and move objects that are up to 40 pounds. Must have visual, hearing and learning capabilities necessary to perform the essential functions described above. ENVIRONMENT AND SCHEDULING Work is performed Monday through Friday and the hours of operation are between 9 am – 7pm. The BHT’s specific schedule will be determined by your Manager. Duties involve contact with clients that may be suicidal, homicidal, depressed, anxious or have panic attacks and who are still learning to self-regulate.
