POSITION TITLE: BEHAVIORAL SUPPORTS CLINICIAN I , MENTAL HEALTH & RECOVERY SPECIALTY REPORTS TO: Clinical Supervisor or Supervising Psychologist POSITIONS REPORTING TO: None POSITION SUMMARY: The Behavioral Supports Clinician I (BSCI) will function as an integral member of the interdisciplinary team and is responsible for combining behavioral and relational approaches within a therapeutic residential setting. The Behavioral Supports Clinician I will design and develop strategies and plans to support adolescents and young adults with effectively managing social, emotional and behavioral difficulties. Key responsibilities will include: individualized behavior design and planning, treatment integrity monitoring, data analysis, clinical documentation, staff training, participation in the intake and discharge process, as well as ongoing collaboration with family members, outpatient treatment providers, and program funders. ESSENTIAL CORE FUNCTIONS : 1. For assigned caseload, the Behavioral Supports Clinician I develops individualized Behavior Support Plans using Behavior Analytic Technology to design and gauge the effectiveness of individual behavior programs. Responsible for pairing behavioral strategies with relational strategies and implementing individualized programming within a therapeutic setting. Monitors treatment integrity and analyzes behavioral data to continually evaluate an individual’s progress and implements program alterations as indicated. Behavior programs must comply with Behavior Analytic Technology, policies and procedures, and all applicable State and Federal Regulations. Engages in consistent multidisciplinary collaboration across relevant agencies to provide continuity of care. Assists in the development and implementation of formal and informal training to staff across programs. Uses observations of staff interactions with the individuals we serve to continually assess training needs and to provide dynamic and on-going training in relevant topic areas. 3. Participates with the intake process in order to assess individuals for possible placement at Ability Beyond as well as potential placement in other facilities. 4. Collaborates with allied service providers, prepares for and participates as a contributory member of the interdisciplinary team and progress review/transition meetings as appropriate. 5. Completes necessary documentation according to agency and program requirements and in keeping with state and federal regulatory agencies, accrediting bodies, and funders. Writes Program Review Committee (PRC) Reports for assigned individuals according to policy and procedures and regulatory guidelines. ESSENTIAL SPECIALIZED FUNCTIONS: 6. Partners with the Residential Program Manager to ensure proper execution of the service model, including the therapeutic culture, skills teaching, systems of reinforcement, high risk protocols, documentation and quality. 7. Is an active and consistent participant in the program therapeutic milieu including at minimum weekly individual meetings with each individual, crisis management, skills teaching, leisure activities, etc. 8. In partnership with Residential Program Manager, plans and facilitates weekly program staff meeting, weekly clinical meeting, and monthly quality meetings. 9. Serves as the point of contact for outpatient treatment providers. Engages in consistent communication and completes necessary documentation to support collaborative clinical and residential treatment planning on behalf of individuals. 10. Participates in discharge planning and aftercare in an effort to maximize individuals’ opportunities for success in the community.
