JOB Opening Date: May 8, 2026APPLICATIONS FOR THIS POSITION WILL ONLY BE ACCEPTED ONLINE.BASIC POSITION INFORMATIONUnder the direction of the Chief Business Officer, coordinate the daily activities of the District's risk management program; coordinate the functions of property and liability insurance, worker's compensation program, employee benefits programs, and safety management for the District.RECRUITMENT TYPEOpen - anyone may apply. The District currently has an 8-hour, 12-month position. The examination process will consist of supplemental questions included in the application, a job-related written examination, and a qualifications appraisal interview followed by a selection interview for those candidates in the top three ranks on the eligibility list. The eligibility list that is being established will be used to fill the current vacancy and for future vacancies within one year. This summary provides examples of typical tasks performed in this classification.Coordinate the District's employee benefits program both for certificated and classified employees; organize open enrollment informational fairs, meetings, and resources regarding the District plan. EPrepare and process payments for all medical, dental, vision, life, and voluntary coverage enrollments through carriers. Set up payroll benefit tables, process and reconcile all changes, deductions, and contributions for medical, dental, vision, life, voluntary coverages, and union dues for all employees. E Prepares, communicates with employees, and sends COBRA notifications as appropriate to eligible employees. EPrepares and provides information and data reports for STRS and PERS retirees.Coordinates and monitors all aspects of compliance, implementation, and eligibility factors related to the Affordable Care Act. E Serves as district liaison with employees, insurance companies, and medical providers regarding eligibility, and coverage. ECoordinates and works directly with an insurance broker to ensure program effectiveness and facilitates going out to bid process to secure optimal employee benefit programs; Analyzes and prepares recommendations concerning appropriate, cost-effective and cost-beneficial insurance coverage and program improvement needs. E Analyzes the Risk Management/Workers Compensation program to identify, evaluate, reduce, or eliminate risks and liabilities and ensure compliance with applicable state, federal, and local laws and regulations; advises district leadership. E Reviews contracts and serves as a technical expert to advise and make recommendations specific to each contract. ECoordinates the daily activities of Worker’s Compensation; monitors medical appointments, treatment and lost times and/or modify duty; prepares appropriate reports for claims administration and the California Occupational, Safety and Health Administration (Cal OSHA). ECollaborate, support, and provide informational reports and analysis on employee leaves (FMLA, CFRA, Education Code Leaves, etc). E Coordinate and facilitate interactive/reasonable accommodation meetings for modified duty requests and or assignments. EInteracts with claims administrator, insurance adjustors, JPA Director, risk consultants, and attorneys as needed to ensure compliance with all laws related to the interactive process. E Coordinate property and liability insurance for the District; complete quote information for self-insurance; prepare lists of liability cases for the Board; report on and investigate accidents in the District; coordinate claims activities including liaison with claimants, insurance carriers, attorneys, and other agencies; complete coverage certificates, applications and other related documents as needed; administer insurance for outside groups for District facility use and school booster organizations. EMaintains and implements district facilities access; master keys, and individual security codes and access. ECoordinate and collaborate on the implementation of district-wide disaster and safety programs. Implement and monitor the completion of safety-related work orders. E Coordinate the District's loss prevention program, including investigation of accidents, safety inspections, and recommendations to avoid recurrence; drive a vehicle to various District sites to conduct inspections. ECompile comparative data of various plans for student and pre-school insurance purchases; notify parents of student accident insurance available through the district. ESchedule and communicate as-necessary pesticide use informational bulletins and notify students, parents, and employees of use in accordance with state and federal laws; collect requests for notification of pesticide usage.
