Job Description
BID ADMINISTRATOR I ESTIMATING ASSISTANT for a mid-sized construction company with an emphasis on health care construction.Estimating is a vital function in this company.Timely, quality estimates are required to keep the company's revenues on track, and everybody's livelihood here depends upon that function being properly accomplished.This position's responsibilities directly include support of the Chief Estimator in preparing all budgets and estimates, with complete accuracy and timeliness.Position reports to Chief Estimator, C.E.O./President, and Proj ect Mana gers TECHNICAL - Essential functions, responsibilities, and priorities:Solicitation for subcontractor participation (Bidmail) and follow up to ensure good bid Coverage.Processing of bid information (set up incoming bids, initiate deadlines and checklists for bid elements, make available bid information such as plans and specs to subs, etc.) Review all prospective estimates (RFP's, ITB's) with C.E.prior to beginning work on them.Ensure that all bidding obligations of an exceptional nature (such as bid bonds, special insurance, specialty trade and sole sources vendor requirements, etc.) are identified, and monitor the progress and completion of such items to be included in the proposal elements.Maintain and update company marketing materials.Excellent MS Office Suite skills (particularly Excel).Maintain all logs, including subcontractor database.Manage and maintain bid room (plan sets, etc.) in a neat and organized manner.Coordinate and assemble tasks to meet required deadlines.Candidate cannot be reminded of duties and responsibilities, and the timely response to tasks is critical.Must be analytical, rational - able to cope with problems in a reliable manner, have a general knowledge and understanding of construction terminology.Ability to calculate mathematical extensions.Blueprint reading (light experience preferred).STYLE - The candidate must exhibit the following qualities:Multi-tasking expert; MUST be able to manage priorities and workflow.Superior organization is required for this position.Powerful communication skills and the confidence to persevere diplomatically.Motivated attitude.Be conscientious and diligent in all endeavors for the company, be a genuine team player, and make every effort to ensure the success and profitability of the company.Further, this position will require light lifting ability (plan sets and packages, up to 25 lbs.).The Bid Administrator may be requested to attend pre-bid job walks and client meetings (onsite); attendance shall be compensated at the standard state mileage reimbursement rate for the total amount of miles driven from office to meeting location.Work hours are 8AM to 5PM, Monday through Friday, with a 1-hour lunch break each day.Job Type:Full-time Pay:$30.00 - $33.00 per hour Work Location:In person.
