TitleBig Data Systems EngineerResponsibilitiesDeploy and integrate the Cloud Hybrid Edge-to-Enterprise Evaluation Test & Analysis Suite (CHEETAS) at multiple DoD ranges and labs.Act as the primary interface for customers deploying CHEETAS in DoD Range and lab environments.Work closely with system administrators and software developers to communicate, document, and resolve deployment issues.Deploy CHEETAS in diverse DoD testing ranges and acquisition program environments, including non-standard hardware stacks and highly secure vaults with no external internet connectivity.Work EnvironmentLocation: Remote – candidates may work from one of KBR's facilities or from home with a stable internet connection.Travel Requirements: Approximately 25% travel, potentially up to 50% during peaks, to support DoD ranges and labs across the U.S. (including Alaska and Hawaii).Working Hours: Standard.Basic QualificationsActive TS/SCI security clearance.Bachelor's degree in computer science, data science, statistics or a related STEM field and a minimum of 10 years of DoD experience.Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience configuring and integrating SQL Server Big Data Cluster, CentOS, Ubuntu, RedHat, Windows Server, VMware, etc.Minimum of 5 years of experience in big-data environments.Proficiency in deploying and configuring big data and knowledge-management tools in enterprise settings.Extensive technical expertise in configuring and troubleshooting big-data ecosystems.Excellent written and verbal communication skills; adept at assisting customers with installation and configuration.Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills; ability to become a CHEETAS deployment subject matter expert.Ability to work independently, provide design and development recommendations, and collaborate with stakeholders of varying experience levels.Experience with NFS, SMB, S3, SQL Server, Windows Server, Windows 10/11, Linux (CentOS, Ubuntu, RedHat).Prepared to learn new business processes or CHEETAS nuances each Agile sprint release (˜ every 6 weeks).Capable of communicating technical topics to both experts and non-experts at management and technical levels.Experience designing, building, integrating, and maintaining big-data systems and solutions.Ability to present findings before large groups and document repeatable procedures.Preferred QualificationsExperience working in government/defense labs and navigating their computing restrictions.Experience with major DoD acquisition programs.Knowledge of the Test and Training Enabling Architecture (TENA), Joint Mission Environment Testing Capability (JMETC), and distributed testing and training.Experience working in distributed team environments.Mentoring skills for engineers at varying skill levels.Knowledge of DoD cybersecurity policies.Compensation$142,400 - $180,000 (Denver, CO)$148,900 - $200,000 (Los Angeles, CA)$148,900 - $200,000 (Washington, DC)Additional CompensationOptional bonuses, commissions, sign-on bonuses, relocation benefits, short-term and long-term incentives, or discretionary payments may be offered based on internal policy and contract designation.EEO StatementKBR is an equal-opportunity employer.
