Actalent is Hiring a Bilingual Medical Assistant!! Job Description The Bilingual Medical Assistant supports providers by performing a blend of clinical, administrative, and clerical duties to ensure patients receive high-quality, efficient care. This role helps patients feel comfortable in the clinic, clearly explains provider instructions, and ensures that exam rooms, records, and supplies are organized and ready for each visit. The Medical Assistant works closely with a primary care provider and the care team in a busy clinic setting, serving patients in both English and Spanish. Responsibilities Escort patients to exam rooms and notify the provider when patients are ready to be seen. Ensure all laboratory and diagnostic test results are available and filed in the patient chart prior to the appointment. Maintain exam rooms by keeping them appropriately stocked, organized, and clean. Conduct initial patient intake, including reason for visit, symptoms, and obtaining vital signs such as weight, height, blood pressure, and temperature. Verify and update current medications, contact information, and medical allergies in the patient record. Prepare patients for examinations, ensuring they understand the process and feel comfortable. Collect and prepare laboratory specimens in accordance with established procedures. Prepare and administer medications, including intramuscular, intradermal, and subcutaneous injections, as directed by the physician or other licensed provider. Administer nebulizer treatments and assist the provider with additional procedures and tasks as directed. Transmit prescription refills as directed by the provider and accurately document these activities. Monitor inventory and help order medical, laboratory, and office supplies to ensure adequate stock. Follow up on diagnostic results, medications, blood work, and other orders, communicating with patients and providers as needed. Provide basic wound care in accordance with provider instructions and clinic protocols. Use computer applications and electronic medical records systems, including Athena EMR, for documentation and patient care workflows. Perform phlebotomy and blood draws, if trained and assigned, to support diagnostic testing. Support patient care over the phone by answering questions, providing instructions, and relaying provider messages when needed. Contribute to a collaborative team environment by communicating effectively with providers, staff, and patients. Essential Skills Certified or Registered Medical Assistant credentials such as CMA, RMA, or CCMA are required. High school diploma or equivalent. Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish, with the ability to communicate clearly with patients and providers in both languages. Experience with Athena EMR is preferred; training is available for candidates willing to learn. Approximately 2 years of experience as a Medical Assistant; less experience may be considered with a strong work ethic. CPR certification or willingness to obtain CPR certification within a defined timeframe. Demonstrated experience in medical assisting, including direct patient care in a clinical setting. Phlebotomy and blood draw experience is valuable in this role. Ability to obtain and record vital signs such as blood pressure, temperature, height, and weight accurately. Ability to work closely with a provider in a one-on-one setting while supporting a broader care team. Work Environment This position is 100% onsite in a primary care clinic in North Miami. The clinic is high-volume, with each provider typically seeing approximately 12–16 patients per day, requiring strong time management and the ability to stay organized and calm in a busy environment. The schedule follows regular daytime hours: Monday through Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Miami, FL. Pay And Benefits The pay range for this position is $39520.00 - $45760.00/yr.
