summary Date posted:January 21, 2026 Pay:$22.48 - $27.07 per hour Job Description:School Secretary Prescott Valley Charter School Bilingual in Spanish Position Overview The School Secretary serves as the first point of contact for students, parents, staff, and community members at the Lorna Campus.This role is critical to maintaining a secure, welcoming, and efficient front office environment that reflects the school's mission, values, and commitment to student safety.The School Secretary demonstrates exceptional professionalism, discretion, and attention to detail; communicates effectively with diverse stakeholders; and ensures compliance with FERPA, Arizona Department of Education (ADE) requirements, and school policies.Essential Duties and Responsibilities Front Office Operations & Visitor Management Serve as the primary receptionist and point of contact for all visitors, parents, students, and phone inquiries.Greet visitors courteously and ensure compliance with visitor sign-in, identification verification, and badge issuance procedures.Enforce front door access and visitor management procedures consistently.Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming front office environment.Ensure the front desk remains free of personal clutter or non-work items when visitors are present.Student Attendance, Sign-In, and Release Monitor student sign-ins, early releases, tardy slips, and dismissals.Verify identification prior to releasing any student.Assist with dissemination of transportation changes.Maintain daily attendance records and report absences per ADE requirements.Communication & Administrative Support Answer phones promptly and courteously; route calls appropriately.Provide informal translation support as authorized.Distribute and process forms and communications.Scan and electronically distribute documents when feasible.Process mail and deliveries accurately.Support administrative tasks as assigned.Confidentiality & Legal Compliance Maintain strict FERPA compliance.Secure confidential records using approved systems.Handle records per ADE and Charter Board requirements.Sign annual confidentiality acknowledgements.Professional Expectations & Conduct Maintain professional boundaries.Demonstrate calm, respectful communication.Follow employee dress code.Report safety concerns promptly.Safety & Emergency Responsibilities Enforce safety protocols.Support emergency drills.Follow chain-of-command communication.Refer media inquiries to Superintendent or designee.Qualifications High school diploma required; associate degree preferred.School or public office experience preferred.Strong communication skills.Ability to maintain confidentiality under pressure.Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Synergy preferred.Must pass Arizona background and fingerprint clearance.Physical Demands & Work Environment Busy office environment.Ability to sit, stand, walk campus areas.Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.Performance Evaluation Criteria Compliance with procedures.Professionalism and reliability.Accuracy and timeliness.Quality of customer service.Benefits:Dental insurance Health insurance Paid time off Vision insurance Work Location:In person All analytics data provided here is for informational purposes only and Indeed does not guarantee its accuracy.Values shown may deviate from the actual charges.Indeed reserves the right to adjust the information shown here or change the method of measuring such figures at any time.This information does not constitute a contract.Job Type:Full-time Pay:$20.00 - $27.46 per hour Benefits:Dental insurance Health insurance Paid time off Work Location:In person.
