Job Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Billing Manager/Clerk to join our dynamic finance team. In this role, you will oversee the billing and accounts receivable processes, ensuring accurate and timely invoicing across various departments. Your expertise in financial software, accounting principles, and medical billing will be essential to streamline revenue cycle management and maintain compliance with industry standards such as GAAP and SOX. Responsibilities Process accounts receivable transactions efficiently while monitoring overdue accounts and initiating collections when necessary. Collaborate with medical billing teams on CPT coding, ICD-10 coding, and medical terminology to ensure precise billing for healthcare services. Perform detailed account analysis, journal entries, and double-entry bookkeeping to support accurate financial reporting. Reconcile accounts payable and receivable, analyze financial data for discrepancies, and prepare reports for management review. Provide exceptional customer service by addressing billing inquiries professionally via phone or email, demonstrating excellent phone etiquette and negotiation skills. Qualifications Proven experience in accounting or bookkeeping roles within public accounting, healthcare, or non-profit organizations. Strong knowledge of accounting concepts including debits & credits, journal entries, revenue cycle management, and account reconciliation. Familiarity with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, PeopleSoft, or similar platforms; experience with medical billing systems is a plus. Understanding of financial regulations like GAAP and SOX compliance standards. Ability to handle high-volume data entry (10 key typing) accurately while maintaining attention to detail. Knowledge of CPT coding, ICD-10 coding standards, and medical terminology for healthcare billing processes. Excellent analysis skills combined with strong organizational abilities; capable of performing complex account analysis efficiently. Effective communication skills with professional phone etiquette; adept at negotiation and problem-solving in customer service scenarios.
