About the Role: TMG is seeking an experienced, operations-minded Billing Manager to join our growing team and assist with overseeing the end-to-end billing operations across all markets. This role is responsible for department performance, revenue cycle oversight, team leadership, process standardization, and ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant billing practices. The Billing Manager provides leadership to Billing Leads and Specialists, ensuring claims are processed efficiently, denials are minimized, reimbursements are maximized, and billing operations scale effectively with company growth. Key Responsibilities: Department Leadership & Oversight Oversee daily billing operations across all entities and markets Lead, coach, and hold Billing Leads and Specialists accountable Establish workflows, KPIs, and performance expectations Ensure appropriate staffing models and workload distribution Partner with Operations, Finance, and Leadership on revenue cycle performance Build a high-accountability, detail-oriented team culture Revenue Cycle & Billing Operations Oversee full billing lifecycle: charge capture → claim submission → payment posting → collections Ensure accurate billing for all transport types (e.g., WC, stretcher, ambulatory) Monitor payer requirements (Medicaid, Medicare, private pay, facility contracts) Ensure timely claim submission and follow-up on outstanding AR Identify trends in denials, underpayments, and billing errors Performance & Financial Management Monitor KPIs such as Days in AR, clean claim rate, denial rate, collection rate, and revenue per trip Analyze billing trends and identify revenue leakage Partner with Finance on forecasting and reconciliation Drive improvements to maximize reimbursement and cash flow Compliance, Risk & Audit Ensure billing practices comply with federal/state regulations and payer guidelines Maintain documentation standards to support audits and claims validation Monitor risks related to incorrect billing, fraud/waste/abuse exposure, and payer disputes Support internal and external audits Process Improvement & Systems Identify inefficiencies and implement scalable billing processes Standardize SOPs across all bases Partner on system optimization (e.g., dispatch-to-billing integration, Paycom/reporting tools) Support new base launches and billing setup Staffing, Training & Development Oversee hiring, onboarding, and training for billing team Develop team capabilities in billing accuracy, collections, and payer knowledge Create career pathing and bench strength within the billing function Additional Responsibilities Perform other duties as reasonably assigned by management.
