Biomedical Technician / Equipment Support Specialist – General (Level I) Company: DeltaStrac LLC Location: Robley Rex Veterans Affairs Medical Center Employment Type: Full-Time | On-Site Clearance Requirement: Must be able to obtain a Public Trust Citizenship: U.S. Citizenship Required Position Overview DeltaStrac LLC is seeking a qualified Biomedical Technician / Equipment Support Specialist – General (Level I) to support clinical engineering operations at the Robley Rex VA Medical Center. This role is critical to ensuring the safety, functionality, and regulatory compliance of medical equipment used in support of veteran patient care. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on experience in biomedical equipment maintenance, strong technical aptitude, and familiarity with healthcare environments—particularly within the Veterans Health Administration or similar systems. Basic Qualifications (Required) Candidates must meet at least one of the following: Experience within a medical center and Biomedical Engineering department OR Experience working in or with the Veterans Health Administration (VHA) OR Demonstrated understanding of VISN structure, VA medical center operations, and Biomedical Engineering services Role-Specific Qualifications (Level I) Associate degree (or higher) in an applied science field or equivalent military biomedical training Minimum of one (1) year of hospital or healthcare experience performing medical equipment maintenance Demonstrated competency in: Operational verification procedures Planned preventive maintenance (PM) Corrective maintenance and repair of medical equipment Familiarity with: Biomedical test equipment setup and application Industry regulations and standards (e.g., ISO, FDA, Joint Commission) Ability to read, analyze, and interpret: Technical manuals Schematics and wiring diagrams Equipment specifications Key Responsibilities Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on a wide range of medical devices Conduct incoming inspections, safety testing, and performance verification Troubleshoot and repair biomedical equipment to restore functionality Maintain accurate service records in accordance with VA policies Ensure compliance with federal, VA, and industry regulatory standards Support clinical staff by providing technical guidance on equipment use and functionality Assist in inventory management and lifecycle tracking of medical equipment Preferred Qualifications Prior experience supporting VA Medical Centers or federal healthcare systems Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) Knowledge of cybersecurity practices related to medical devices Pay: $52,896.00 - $62,900.00 per hour Benefits 401(k) 401(k) matching Dental insurance Health insurance Life insurance Paid time off Vision insurance Work Location: In person
