Board Member, Board of Directors About the Company Mission-driven organization providing art services to individuals with intellectual & developmental disabilities Industry Individual & Family Services Type Non Profit Employees 1-10 About the Role The Company is in search of a new Board Member to join its dedicated team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for the arts and a commitment to the inclusion and empowerment of individuals with diverse abilities. Professional expertise in arts management, fundraising, organizational effectiveness, finance, HR, law, or nonprofit governance is highly valued, as these skills will contribute to the sustainable growth and deepening of the company's impact. Board Members are expected to uphold the organization's mission, evaluate the Executive Director, lead strategic planning, ensure strong financial management, and support fundraising efforts. The successful candidate will be responsible for attending quarterly board meetings, both virtual and in-person, and must be prepared to actively participate and engage in the work of the organization. This includes understanding the company's mission, policies, and programs, as well as being able to read and interpret financial statements. A commitment to an individual fundraising plan is also required. The Board of Directors plays a crucial role in enhancing the company's public image and community presence, and in assessing its own performance as a governing body.
