About Kimball’s Kimball’s California Bistro is a new California fusion restaurant located in the historic former post office building in Downtown Hemet. Our concept blends elevated comfort food with global influences, craft beer, wine, and a high-energy but professional kitchen culture. We are looking for a strong Back of House leader who can help build systems, lead a team, maintain standards, and execute consistently in a fast-paced environment. This is a hands-on leadership position for someone who can cook, lead, organize, and help shape the kitchen from the ground up. Position Summary The BOH Lead/Kitchen Manager/Chef will oversee daily kitchen operations including: Line execution Prep systems Food quality and consistency Kitchen sanitation Inventory and ordering Scheduling and labor management Team leadership and training This role will work directly with ownership to help develop a strong long-term kitchen culture and operational systems. Responsibilities Lead daily BOH operations and service execution Train and supervise kitchen staff Maintain food quality, consistency, and presentation Manage prep lists and kitchen organization Control food waste and labor costs Maintain health department and food safety standards Assist with menu development and specials Receive and organize deliveries Create efficient kitchen systems and workflows Help hire and develop BOH staff Qualifications 3+ years kitchen leadership experience preferred Strong line cooking and expediting experience Ability to lead calmly under pressure Experience with ordering and inventory management Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards Reliable transportation and dependable attendance Flexible availability including nights, weekends, and holidays ServSafe certification preferred What We’re Looking For We want someone who Takes pride in building a great kitchen culture Leads by example Communicates professionally Is organized and self-motivated Can balance creativity with consistency Understands both hospitality and kitchen discipline Perks Opportunity to help build a new restaurant from the ground up Creative input on menu and kitchen systems Growth opportunity with expanding concepts Supportive ownership team Employee meals and discounts Pay: From $22.00 per hour License/Certification Serve Safe Certificate (Required) Work Location: In person
