Courageous Bakery & Cafe – Oak Park, IL Courageous Bakery & Cafe is hiring a full-time BOH Operations Lead to help drive kitchen execution, prep systems, organization, and day-to-day operational consistency. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who thrives in fast-paced food service and naturally takes ownership. We are looking for someone who can help create calm, organized execution during busy shifts while maintaining strong standards and communication. Compensation $22/hour base pay Additional service fee/tip distribution Expected effective compensation approximately $23.50–24/hour Schedule Approximately 40 hours/week Friday, Saturday, and Sunday availability required Two additional weekday shifts Likely Thursday–Monday schedule Responsibilities Lead line execution during service Maintain prep organization and completion Support bakery and prep production as needed Help maintain cleanliness and kitchen standards Support ticket flow and communication during service Assist with inventory and ordering over time Help create operational consistency and accountability within BOH We Are Looking For Someone Who: Takes ownership naturally Follows through consistently Works with urgency and intention Notices details without constant direction Communicates clearly and respectfully Stays calm under pressure Is dependable and punctual Can flex between line, prep, bakery support, and operational tasks Wants to grow into a larger operational leadership role Experience Preferred Kitchen lead or leadership experience preferred Cafe, brunch, bakery, or fast-paced kitchen experience strongly preferred Inventory or ordering experience is a plus Food safety knowledge preferred About Us Courageous Bakery & Cafe is an independently owned cafe and bakery focused on high-quality food, coffee, hospitality, and strong operational systems.
