Bookkeeper Gundersons CFO & Bookkeeping Location: In-Person | Hempstead, TX Employment Type: Full-Time Compensation: Competitive, based on experience ABOUT GUNDERSONS CFO & BOOKKEEPING Gundersons CFO & Bookkeeping is a Texas-based accounting and bookkeeping firm serving small businesses and individual clients. THE OPPORTUNITY We are looking for a detail-driven bookkeeper who does clean, complete work. The kind of person who finishes a task fully before moving to the next one. This is a full-time, in-person role at our Hempstead, TX office. You will manage bookkeeping for a portfolio of small business clients, support walk-in clients at the front office, work within established systems, and report into a structured review process. Accuracy and consistency are not aspirational here; they are the baseline. WHAT YOU'LL DO Manage full-cycle bookkeeping for multiple small business clients Perform monthly bank and credit card reconciliations Maintain accurate general ledger entries and chart of accounts Process accounts payable and receivable Prepare monthly financial reports: P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow Support payroll coordination and reconciliation Greet and assist walk-in clients, answering routine inquiries and directing complex questions to the appropriate team member Communicate with clients on routine bookkeeping matters Flag discrepancies and escalate issues through proper channels Maintain organized, complete client files within firm systems TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS 2+ years of bookkeeping experience, preferably with small business clients Proficiency in QuickBooks Online (QBO ProAdvisor certification a plus) Solid working knowledge of GAAP bookkeeping principles Experience with bank reconciliations, AP/AR, and monthly financial reporting Proficiency with Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets Experience managing multiple client files simultaneously Familiarity with payroll processing (ADP, Gusto, or similar) WHO YOU ARE We use the Predictive Index (PI) behavioral assessment as part of our hiring process.
