Job Title: Line Cook Location : Benji’s Bagel and Coffee House - West Nashville - 6108 Robertson Avenue East Nashville - 921 Cherokee Avenue Compensation: $17 per hour + tip share (.25 points in tip pool) Hourly plus tips = $20-$25 per hour Status: Part Time or Full Time Schedule Monday - Friday 6am-3pm OR 6am-6pm Saturday and Sunday 7am-3pm or 8am-6pm Must be available to work weekends. Benji's Bagel & Coffee House is a husband and wife owned and operated neighborhood bagel shop. All bagels are hand rolled and kettle boiled. Our menu is entirely curated by us and the team with all items made in house. We thrive with exceptional hospitality. With one bustling location in West Nashville that opened in January 2024 and a second that opened in East Nashville August 2025, we produce over 7,000 hand-rolled, kettle-boiled bagels weekly and serve a loyal and growing community that values quality, speed, and warmth. With two locations we are planning to double production. Our team is dedicated, fast-paced, and passionate about creating joyful guest experiences through both great coffee and great connection. Job Title: Breakfast Line Cook - Hot and Cold We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled breakfast focused line cook to join our bagel shop team. The line cook will be responsible for preparing, cooking and putting together all bagel sandwiches. This includes but is not limited to bagel and cream cheese, egg sandwiches, lox or build your own sandwiches. You will be in charge of setting up your station prior to shift, prepping items needed for service, and creating a prep list for the next day. The ideal candidate should have excellent time management and multitasking skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities: Food Preparation Prepare and cook a variety of menu items, including bagels and breakfast sandwiches according to established recipes and customer preferences. Ingredient Management Maintain inventory on all food ingredients, including bagels, spreads, meats, cheeses, and vegetables. Restocking station daily and letting management know when an order needs to be placed Kitchen Sanitation Follow proper food safety and sanitation procedures to ensure a clean and safe working environment Quality Control Inspect food products for quality and freshness, and promptly discard any items that do not meet our standards Customer Service Work collaboratively with the front of house team and other back of house employees to fulfill customer orders accurately and efficiently. Be responsive to customer requests and special dietary needs Equipment Maintenance Ensure kitchen equipment such as toasters, grills, fryer and range are kept clean and in good working order. Report any equipment issues to management Team Work Collaborate with fellow kitchen staff to maintain a smooth and efficient kitchen operation, especially during peak hours Menu Knowledge Stay informed about the menu including specials or promotions as well as being able to answer customer questions Qualifications Previous experience in a similar role Knowledge of basic culinary techniques and food safety practices Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple orders simultaneously Strong communication skills Positive attitude and passion for creating delicious food Flexibility to work weekends and holidays as needed Food handlers certificate is required If you are a dedicated and enthusiastic individual with a love for bagels and breakfast cookery, we’d love to have you join our team.
