Job Description
Ross elementary school is looking for a licensed teacher to work as a .6 Title I teacher and as a .4 Media Specialist. The successful candidate will possess a Massachusetts Educator License in Elementary Education Responsibilities: Engage in the support of students accessing the curriculum and school activities including preparing and implementing small group lessons. Reinforces and instructs learning with individual and small groups of students in collaboration with the classroom teacher or specialist Adapts work or classroom materials in collaboration with the classroom teacher or specialist Assists in observing, data collection, and the use of positive behavior supports including but not limited to token economy systems, point charts, etc. Demonstrates dependability, integrity, and respect for student differences and high standards of conduct Supports the creation and maintenance of an inclusive, student-focused, and culturally proficient learning environment Maintains strict ethical standards of student and family confidentiality Assists the staff in maintaining appropriate school behavior and discipline Facilitates and supports student’s use of positive social interactions, coping skills, and self regulation strategies Manages the school library and maintains the circulation database for books. Supports students in selecting appropriate books for their reading level and areas of interest. Implement the media curriculum aligned to aspects of the Digital Literacy Computer Science standards to support students in learning to be responsible digital citizens, learn to use Chromebooks productively and become proficient in Google Classroom, Google Slides, and Google Docs, and learn about coding and begin to develop a skillset to draw and create code. Demonstrates self-motivation and the ability to apply and generalize new skills Proficient oral and written communication skills Participates in professional development training as directed Assists with clerical duties as assigned by the building principal Demonstrates consistent and dependable attendance, and is punctual to both work and to job responsibilities.
