Position Details Bus attendants work part time hours with full time benefits! The position works 40 weeks per year, 5 days per week at 4 hours per day, following the school calendar. Bus attendants can also pick up routes throughout the day for additional pay! Salary Year Hourly Rate 1 $13.48 2 $13.99 3 $14.51 4 $15.05 5 $15.58 6 $16.05 7 $16.52 8 $17.00 9 $17.51 10 $18.25 A year of service annual increase will be provided to employees who have completed 120 working days in a paid status per school year based on the board approved salary schedule. The health clinics provide primary care services, generic prescription medications, physicals, health screenings, and labs; all at NO COST to the employee or covered family member. The Wee Care program provides a quality early learning experience for employees' children as young as six weeks through age five at a special employee rate. This position will automatically be enrolled in the Public Employees' Retirement Fund (PERF) through the state of Indiana, which includes a defined benefit (Pension) as well as an Annuity Savings Account (ASA). Employees may also participate in a 403(b) Plan. Enrolling in the 403(b) plan allows employees to save for their retirement by making a pre-tax salary deferral contributions to the Plan. It is a confidential, voluntary service that provides professional counseling and referral services designed to help employees and their family members with personal, job or family-related matters. Summary To assist in providing safe transportation of special needs students to and from designated locations. Works one on one with assigned student to meet the student's needs. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Other duties may be assigned. Assists driver and students in operation of lifts for wheelchairs and assisting disabled students. Maintains good student conduct on the bus. Secures special equipment that may accompany the student. Is alert to any conditions in the loading and unloading area which present a danger to students. Communicates in an appropriate fashion with students' parents and EVSC employees. Keeps confidential documentation on students concerning their address and medical record. Responsible for becoming familiar with children with special needs, their differences, and individual needs. Ability to recognize all emergency situations regarding these students including the ability to operate the two-way radio. Assists driver with emergency evacuation. Handling medication while student is transported. Knowledgeable of first aide. Shall faithfully perform all duties and responsibilities as outlined in his/her contract and follow directives.
