Two years of experience in collision repair, auto body repair, or a related field are required. Must have a valid Class E Driver's License. OR Candidates may substitute the required experience with having graduated from an accredited vocational school program, in Collision Repair, Auto Body Repair, Truck Collision Repair, or a related field. Candidates must have a valid Class E Driver's License. A performance test will be given at the time of the interview. Candidates selected for employment will be placed in training status and must successfully complete the Bus Body Technician Training Program. The DTPW classification of Bus Body Technician performs safety-sensitive functions and is subject to the provisions of the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) Drug and Alcohol Regulations. Proof of education, work experience and Class E Driver's License, along with any relevant diploma, ASE certificates, and technical training must be presented at the time interview and will be verified. Recruitment Notes This is advanced skilled journeyman work in the repair and replacement of body and fender components, and the surface preparation and painting of transit operating vehicles. Employees in this position perform routine and complex automotive body repairs and painting in all phases of structural components, accident repairs, routine body maintenance, and installation of graphics, paint mixing and overhaul of transit buses. This includes all body parts such as: structural frame, fenders panels, grills, advertising frames, interior panels, seats, flooring, destination signs, windows, windshields, mirrors and door glass, glazing, and doors and all other bus body related structures/components.
