Overview We are a growing Home Care and Non-Emergency Medical Transportation (NEMT) company looking for a motivated intern to join our team. You will split your time between building referral relationships in the field and supporting our NEMT dispatch operations. This is a real, hands-on role — not a coffee-and-copies internship. Responsibilities Visit hospitals, nursing facilities, rehabilitation centers, and orthopedic offices to generate home care referrals Build relationships with discharge planners, social workers, and case managers Distribute marketing materials and represent the company at community events Assist with scheduling and dispatching NEMT drivers for patient trips Coordinate with NEMT brokers (Modivcare, MTM, Southeastrans) on trip confirmations Handle real-time communication between drivers and medical facilities Track leads, outreach activity, and follow-ups Answer inbound calls professionally and assist patients or facilities Requirements Valid driver's license and reliable transportation (required for field outreach) Strong communication skills — comfortable speaking with medical professionals Self-motivated; able to work independently in the field and in an office setting Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a Healthcare, Business, Public Health, Social Work, or related program preferred — but not required Basic computer and phone skills Nice to have Bilingual (Spanish, Amharic, or other languages) Prior customer service, healthcare, or transportation experience Benefits Paid hourly + commission opportunities for referrals generated Flexible scheduling Mentorship from an experienced operator in home care and NEMT Potential for full-time employment after internship This internship is designed for motivated individuals eager to develop their expertise in transportation management while gaining practical experience in a fast-paced environment.
