Overview Introduction to the corporate business development function to apply and practice business principles and skills in a work environment. Responsibilities Leadership and Direction Perform work under direct supervision of an experienced professional and follow established procedures and clearly defined processes. At the Operational and Company Level Interact with multiple departments and peers within the organization and participate in intern program learning and development opportunities. Do the Work Gather and analyze market intelligence for new projects and opportunities. Understand customer needs and assist in the development of project solutions that satisfy those requirements and provide opportunities. Assist with maintaining positive contact with key accounts, key contacts and other critical people at various client organizations and focus efforts to obtain new work and generation of new inquiries for the business. Provide inputs to management based on market information to enable the organization to develop capability in areas to give us strategic leverage for future projects. Attend industry conferences with business development team to foster networking and source and qualify prospects. Success Metrics and Competencies: Willingness and eagerness to learn. Aspirations to grow professionally and advance within the company. Qualifications: High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent commensurate experience required. Enrolled in a college degree program pursuing a Bachelor's or master's degree in business or related field. Must be at least 18 years old. Two or more (2+) years of practical work experience. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Physical Demands and Working Environment: Primarily indoor professional office environment which may include bright/dim light, noise, fumes, odors, and traffic. Mobility around an office environment. Frequent and prolonged use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. Occasional lifting or carrying up to 20 pounds.
