This role plays a critical part in ensuring material availability, cost competitiveness, supplier performance, and compliance with company policies. This position is part of the Supply Chain / Operations team, located in Sterling, VA , and is on-site . In this role, a typical day will look like: Execute purchase orders for direct and indirect materials aligned with MRP signals, production schedules, and service requirements Maintain inventory levels that support on-time delivery while minimizing excess and obsolescence Expedite materials to mitigate supply risks and prevent production disruptions Manage supplier relationships, including order confirmation, delivery performance, quality issues, and corrective actions Support supplier negotiations on pricing, lead times, and commercial terms within defined authority Monitor purchasing KPIs such as on-time delivery, cost variance, lead time, and supplier responsiveness Support PPV, VAVE, and cost-reduction initiatives aligned with site objectives Ensure purchased materials meet quality, regulatory, and documentation requirements Maintain accurate purchasing, pricing, and supplier data in ERP systems Resolve invoice discrepancies and receiving issues in a timely manner Collaborate with Planning, Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, and Finance to align supply with operational needs Support new product introductions, engineering changes, and lifecycle transitions The essential requirements of the job include: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations, or a related field, OR equivalent work experience 2–3 years of purchasing or supply chain experience in a manufacturing or operations environment Demonstrated working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems Experience executing purchase orders for direct and indirect materials Experience supporting supplier performance across cost, quality, and delivery metrics It would be nice if you also possess: Experience supporting electronics, instrumentation, or regulated manufacturing environments Exposure to Lean, continuous improvement, or operational excellence initiatives Experience working with both domestic and international suppliers Strong follow-through and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment OTT HydroMet is proud to part of the Water Quality segment of Veralto (NYSE: VLTO), a $5B global leader dedicated to ensuring access to clean water, safe food and medicine, and trusted essential goods.
