⏺ EthernetSmart — Cable Technician (Subcontractor) Serving Manhattan, Queens & Brooklyn About the Role We're looking for experienced Cable Technicians to install and service Spectrum Cable systems at residential and commercial locations across Manhattan, Queens, and Brooklyn. If you're comfortable in the field, work well independently, and take pride in clean installs — we want to hear from you. What You'll Do Install, troubleshoot, and repair RG6 coaxial cable systems (primary cabling) Run aerial and underground cable drops to residential and commercial units Install and configure cable equipment including modems, routers, and set-top boxes Perform fiber optic, Ethernet, and low-voltage cabling work as needed Splice and terminate cables with precision for clean, reliable signal Diagnose service issues and perform repairs on-site Use standard field tools — crimpers, wire strippers, toners, and meters Document all work performed accurately after each job What You Need Hands-on experience with RG6 coax installation (required) Experience climbing utility poles and working a 28-foot ladder Ability to run aerial cable drops Familiarity with basic networking — modems, routers, signal levels Comfortable using hand tools in the field Valid driver's license Authorized to work in the United States Good to Have Prior Spectrum, Optimum, or cable MSO field experience Knowledge of fiber optic or low-voltage systems Familiar with Cisco or similar network equipment Important Notes This is a 1099 subcontractor position — not W-2 Position includes an unpaid training period before you start taking jobs independently Pay is per job completed Pay: From $29.38 per hour Work Location: In person
