Job Description
Job Description: Café Attendant – Full-Time Department: Dining Services Reports to: Cafe Manager Summary: The Café Attendant supports daily operations and helps deliver a welcoming, efficient, and clean dining experience for guests. Working across both front and back of house environments, this role assists with guest service, stocking, food preparation, and sanitation. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Provide friendly, professional, and responsive service to all guests. Operate the POS system and process transactions accurately and efficiently Support café service by assisting team members across work areas as needed. Respond appropriately to guest questions and escalate concerns to a lead or manager. Maintain cleanliness and organization of dining areas, service stations, and kitchen workspaces including trash removal as needed. Stock and replenish condiments, service ware, beverages, and supplies throughout shift. Assist with light food preparation and portioning as directed. Clean equipment such as coffee urns and soda fountain. Assist with opening and closing duties including mopping and trash removal Follow food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety standards in accordance with Fernbank policies and local health regulations. Practice proper food handling, labeling, and storage procedures. Maintain punctuality, flexibility, and a team-oriented approach to daily operations. Perform additional duties as assigned. Qualification Requirements: Must have a flexible schedule including the ability to work days, weekends, holidays, and some evening events Previous food service or customer service experience preferred. Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Must have exceptional customer service skills Must be able to stand for 8 hours a day and may be required to lift up to 30 pounds
