Cafe Worker/Customer Service Position

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Sandwich Maker and Cafe worker to join our team. We are a small but busy family owned bagel bakery/cafe. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing high-quality sandwiches and providing excellent customer service in a fast-paced environment. This role requires a passion for food and a commitment to maintaining food safety and sanitation standards while ensuring customer satisfaction. We are looking for self motivated people who can work well in a team environment. Weekends are a must in this position. Duties Prepare and assemble sandwiches according to customer specifications, ensuring quality and presentation. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area, including proper sanitization of equipment and surfaces. Assist customers with their orders, providing recommendations and upselling additional items when appropriate. Follow food safety guidelines to ensure all products are prepared in a safe manner. Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient service during peak hours. Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and notify management when supplies need replenishing. Adhere to all company policies and procedures regarding food preparation and customer service. Skills Experience in food service or culinary roles is preferred. Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage positively with customers. Knowledge of food safety practices and sanitation standards. Ability to upsell products effectively to enhance customer experience. Familiarity with grocery store operations or quick-service fast-food environments is a plus. Basic understanding of retail math for managing inventory levels effectively. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well in a team-oriented atmosphere. A proactive approach to problem-solving and attention to detail in food preparation.
