Camp Instructors for Baking and Art Lessons We’re looking for enthusiastic, cheerful, and dependable camp instructors to share their love of baking, cooking, arts and crafts with our students! Desired qualifications and experience: Organized with strong classroom management skills, keen attention to detail, and a love of teaching. Experience working with groups of 10-14 kids in mixed-grade settings (1st - 6th grade). Ability to follow a lesson plan but can also be creative, flexible, and quick thinking when needed. Enjoys a fast-paced environment with daily class goals. Strong sense of time management. Comfortable working independently but also working well with other teachers. Has baked bread, cakes, cookies, and pies and is comfortable making adjustments to student’s batters to help them achieve success! Some experience crafting is great but you don’t need to be a trained artist. Vegetarians and vegans welcome; however, comfort with handling cooked meats, raw eggs, dairy, gluten, soy, and vegetarian products is required. A fun and positive attitude and the ability to actively engage with kids are essential. Responsibilities: Attend our Camp planning and training weeks. 6/15-6/19 11:30am – 6:00pm Sign students in and out of our program, and contact parents when someone is missing, injured, or sick. Communicate with cohorts to provide support and breaks as needed. Manage groups of school-age students (1st-6th grades). Engage with students in a caring and nurturing manner. Foster a dynamic, fun, and engaging experience for kids and their families while maintaining the function, operation, and order of the classroom. Lead students safely through the week’s lesson plan. Set and maintain classroom expectations and provide a safe space for all students to learn. Walk students to and from the park and manage students’ lunch breaks. Set up and clean before and after class. Wash your class dishes, put away supplies, and tidy up at our prep kitchen. Shifts: We're hiring Seasonal staff for 5 days a week M-F. With the opportunity to get hired permanently for our school year dinner class program. Shifts/Positions: Monday- Friday (30 hours) Morning Support/Lead Baking teacher: 7:30am - 2pm Support/Lead Art teacher: 10:30am - 5:30pm Camp Support: 9:30am - 4:30pm Start Date: Onboarding is on 6/10 or 6/12 Mandatory camp training is 6/15 - 6/19 11:30am – 6:00pm Camps run 6/22 - 8/21 Location: Most of our camps are in Seattle at our Queen Anne kitchen. Two weeks of camp are in Redmond. Salary: Seasonal Instructors: $21.30 to $23 per hour. Benefits Rainy Day Dinner Club complies with Seattle’s Paid Sick and Safe Time requirements. Requirements: Must be able to pass a Washington State school and National background checks Proof of covid vaccines and boosters.
