As a Camp Store Attendant, you will be responsible for managing all transactions while providing excellent guest service. Greet and acknowledge guests, answer guests' questions, and assist whenever possible, as well as process returns, with the approval of the supervisor Processes sales with the appropriate point of sale system, accepts payment, counts change, and bags merchandise Maintains a clean and organized store or stand with orderly back-stock Ensure all merchandise is correctly labeled and displayed, notifying the General Manager of defective, mis-marked, mislabeled, incorrectly priced, or damaged merchandise Clean showers, bathrooms, and laundry room Stack and/or move wood Watches for and recognizes security risks and thefts, and reports to security and management Thoroughly clean and sanitize public areas, guest rooms, and restrooms; empty wastebaskets and transport trash to disposal area; replenish supplies Housekeeping duties as assigned More About You No high school diploma or GED required Previous experience in cash handling and operating point-of-sale systems required Previous experience in retail or customer service environment preferred Good communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment Basic math skills with the ability to accurately handle money and count change Physical Requirements Ability to lift and carry up to 30 lbs and stand for entire length of shift Ability to bending, reach, walk up and down stairs, and climb on step stool frequently Shift details Days Evenings Holidays Weekends Who We Are Shenandoah National Park offers over 200,000 acres of protected lands with lots to explore including cascading waterfalls, spectacular vistas, and quiet wooded hollows.
