Island Creek Oysters (ICO) is a mission-based brand engaged in promoting the development of aquaculture's role in our food systems--locally and globally.We grow thriving coastal communities.Through innovation and education, we create opportunities to connect people with boundary-pushing seafood products.We live by our core values.We work hard and have fun doing it.We believe in what we do.We say thank you.The Cannery Process Control Manager is responsible for overseeing and optimizing the fish canning process at our facility.The ideal candidate will ensure that all production processes meet regulatory standards, maintain the highest levels of product quality and safety, and maximize operational efficiency.Your responsibilities will include managing production lines, ensuring quality standards, maintaining a safe work environment, and optimizing efficiency.Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills are essential for success in this position.The Cannery Process Control Manager reports directly to the Operations Director. KEY Responsibilities: Process Control and Management: Oversee the end-to-end fish canning process, ensuring operations align with production goals and quality standards. Monitor and adjust machinery and equipment to optimize production efficiency and reduce downtime. Implement and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for all stages of the canning process. Continuously analyze process data to identify opportunities for improvement. Quality Assurance and Compliance: Ensure all processes comply with regulatory requirements, including FDA and other relevant food safety standards. Conduct routine inspections and audits of production lines to identify and address deviations from quality standards. Work closely with the Quality Assurance team to implement corrective actions and preventive measures. Maintain accurate documentation of all quality control activities and compliance efforts. Leadership and Team Management: Supervise and provide guidance to production staff, including training on process control and safety procedures. Foster a culture of accountability, efficiency, and teamwork among the production team. Lead by example in maintaining high standards of work ethic and attention to detail. Equipment and Maintenance: Collaborate with the Maintenance team to ensure equipment reliability and timely repairs. Assist in the evaluation and procurement of new equipment and technologies to enhance production capabilities. Safety and Environmental Stewardship: Ensure adherence to workplace safety protocols to protect employees and equipment. Promote sustainable practices in the canning process, minimizing waste and environmental impact. REQUIREMENTS: Preferred 5years of experience in food processing or manufacturing, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role. Strong understanding of canning processes, including thermal processing, sealing, and packaging. Proficiency in food safety regulations. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Effective leadership and team management abilities. Proficiency in using manufacturing software and data analysis tools.
