Canvasser - Nonpartisan Voter Registration 1776 Strategies | Philadelphia, PA | Paid hourly role launching June 1, 2026 Role Overview 1776 Strategies is hiring reliable canvassers for a paid, nonpartisan voter registration program in Philadelphia. Canvassers will work in the field, speak with eligible community members, help people complete voter registration forms, and follow all program and compliance rules. Pay And Schedule Pay: $22/hour, paid hourly and not per card. Program launch: June 1, 2026. Location: Philadelphia field locations. Schedule: Shifts will be assigned based on program needs and candidate availability. Work environment:This is an outdoor, public-facing role. Shifts include extended periods of standing, walking, and speaking with members of the public, with reasonable accommodations available as needed. Responsibilities Approach members of the public in a professional, respectful, and nonpartisan way. Assist eligible individuals with voter registration according to all rules and instructions. Accurately complete and return required materials and paperwork. Follow compliance, quality control, and nonpartisan conduct rules at all times. Arrive on time for trainings and assigned shifts. Respond quickly to scheduling and operational texts or calls. Work cooperatively with pod leaders, field staff, and other canvassers. Represent the program professionally in public spaces. Strong Candidates Will Have Reliability, punctuality, and fast communication habits. Comfort approaching and speaking with strangers. Ability to work outdoors in changing weather conditions. Attention to detail and willingness to follow compliance rules exactly. A working smartphone for scheduling and communication. Reliable transportation to assigned Philadelphia locations. Experience in canvassing, voter registration, petitioning, sales, customer service, events, organizing, hospitality, or other public-facing work is helpful but not required. Requirements Must be able to work legally in the United States. Must complete required training before working field shifts. Must be able to perform outdoor public-facing work for assigned shift periods. Must follow nonpartisan voter registration rules and program instructions. Must have a valid driver’s license and regular access to a reliable vehicle for travel between assigned field locations.
