Cardiac Stepdown RN Mason City, IA $2,069/week based on 36 hours/week 13 week contract 12 hour night shift, 3x12 Apply today with CORE Staffing.We offer great pay, health insurance and 401k options for all of our contracted clinicians.Job SummaryJoin our dynamic healthcare team as a Cardiac Stepdown Registered Nurse, where your expertise will directly impact patient recovery and well-being.In this vital role, you will provide specialized nursing care to patients transitioning from intensive cardiac care to less acute settings, ensuring seamless monitoring, treatment, and education.Your energetic approach and critical thinking skills will foster a compassionate environment that promotes healing, safety, and patient satisfaction.This position offers an exciting opportunity to utilize your diverse clinical skills in a fast-paced, supportive setting dedicated to excellence in cardiac care.Responsibilities Deliver comprehensive nursing care to cardiac patients in the stepdown unit, including assessment, medication administration, and vital signs monitoring Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans aligned with patient needs and recovery goals Utilize advanced EMR (Electronic Medical Record) systems such as Epic and Cerner for accurate documentation of patient information and treatment progress Perform specialized procedures including IV infusions, catheterizations, suturing, and ventilator management as required for cardiac patients Monitor for signs of acute pain or complications related to cardiac conditions; respond swiftly with appropriate interventions Educate patients and their families on post-discharge care, medication management, lifestyle modifications, and warning signs of deterioration Ensure strict adherence to infection control protocols, aseptic techniques, HIPAA regulations, and safety standards across all patient interactions Skills Proven experience in critical care environments such as ICU or Level I Trauma Centers with a strong understanding of trauma medicine and emergency response protocols Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems like Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth or eClinicalWorks for efficient medical documentation Skilled in advanced cardiac procedures including catheterization support and acute pain management techniques Knowledge of ICD-10 coding and medical terminology relevant to cardiology and inpatient care settings Ability to perform complex assessments involving physiology knowledge, laboratory experience including specimen collection/processing, and diagnostic evaluation Experience administering injections, IV insertions, tube feeding management, and ventilator support in acute or post-acute care settings Familiarity with long-term care environments such as assisted living or nursing homes that serve cardiac patients with chronic conditions Strong communication skills for triage situations, patient education, discharge planning, and case management across diverse populations including geriatrics and patients with disabilities Join us in delivering exceptional cardiac nursing care where your expertise makes a difference every day!
