Job Summary And Responsibilities Virginia Mason Franciscan Health (VMFH) brings together two award winning health systems in Washington State, CHI Franciscan and Virginia Mason Medical Center, as one integrated health system with the most patient access points in western Washington. We have an opportunity for a 1.0 FTE Cardiologist at our St. Michael Medical Center facility located in Silverdale, Washington. This position offers an excellent opportunity to join a dynamic team recognized for excellence in patient care and clinical outcomes for patients throughout the Puget Sound, Kitsap Peninsula and Olympic Peninsula. Physicians are attracted to the area because of the natural beauty of the Pacific Northwest and great year-round outdoor activities. There are a total of fourteen Cardiologists and thirteen advanced practice practitioners; four interventional cardiologists, a structural cardiologist, three electrophysiologists, an advanced cardiac imager specializing in cardiac MRI, and an advanced heart failure cardiologist. This cardiovascular service line has been recognized by the American Heart Association with multiple gold and platinum awards. The American Thoracic Surgeons has awarded our cardiac surgeons with multiple 3 star awards over the history of the program. The hospital has some of the highest PCI volumes in the state and is a leader in the state for quality and outcomes. There is a robust structural heart program with TAVR and left atrial appendage occlusion. The local service line is complemented with two cardiothoracic surgeons, four cardiac anesthesiologists, three vascular surgeons, and thoracic surgery. Furthermore, our service line extends across a 11 hospital system with three tertiary centers, and is home to the Virginia Mason Franciscan Cardiovascular Fellowship program. Center for Cardiovascular Health: The Center for Cardiovascular Health at VMFH encompasses over 150 providers, including interventional cardiologists, electrophysiologists, advanced heart failure specialists, cardiac imaging specialists, vascular surgeons, thoracic surgeons, cardiac surgeons and anesthesiologists, among other specialists. Our programs have achieved significant recognition within the region and nationally for our quality and outcomes. We are a high volume program performing over 1100 open heart surgeries, 2400 PCIs and 2000 ablations annually. We provide care for over 200,000 patients in our cardiology clinics annually and provide inpatient services for our healthcare system that includes over 1500 beds and 8 hospitals in the Greater Seattle Area. Position Details: This is a predominantly outpatient position. Inpatient responsibilities are limited to weekend rounding coverage on a rotating basis. Schedule: 5 days per week, Monday through Friday. Primary clinic location is in Silverdale with at least one satellite office location TBD. Call: Physicians participate in a weekend inpatient rounding rotation approximately every 6–7 weekends. Weekend call includes direct inpatient coverage with two APP's, and overnight backup call to nocturnist APP. The ideal candidate will be proficient in transthoracic echocardiography, stress echocardiography, transesophageal echocardiography, and nuclear imaging. Proficiency in cardiac CT is a plus, and cardiac MRI experience is welcome but not required. <
