Job Description
UF Health, a comprehensive academic health center in Gainesville, Florida, is seeking a Cardiovascular Lab Manager for our Leesburg location to lead the daily operations of our cardiovascular laboratory within the Healthcare & Medical Services department. In this role, you will oversee a high-performing team of clinical and technical professionals who deliver invasive and non-invasive cardiovascular procedures in a fast-paced, patient-centered environment. You will be responsible for managing the full scope of lab operations, including staff leadership and scheduling, workflow coordination, quality and safety oversight, and ensuring compliance with all regulatory and accreditation standards. The Cardiovascular Lab Manager will collaborate closely with cardiologists, nurses, technologists, and other interdisciplinary team members to provide efficient, evidence-based care that reflects UF Health’s commitment to innovation and excellence. You will guide day-to-day activities in the lab, monitor case volumes and throughput, support complex procedures, and help troubleshoot clinical and operational issues as they arise. A key component of this position is promoting a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement, including maintaining radiation safety practices, infection prevention standards, and robust emergency response readiness for cardiovascular emergencies. In addition to clinical oversight, you will manage staffing plans, onboarding, training, and competency assessments to ensure all team members are prepared to deliver high-quality cardiovascular care. You will support professional growth by mentoring staff, facilitating continuing education, and encouraging participation in performance-improvement and evidence-based practice initiatives. The manager will also be responsible for coordinating equipment maintenance, working with vendors, and overseeing inventory and supply management to ensure the lab is appropriately stocked and technology is functioning optimally. This role includes monitoring key performance indicators such as procedure turnaround times, quality metrics, complication rates, patient and provider satisfaction, and regulatory readiness. You will use data to drive decisions, develop and refine policies and protocols, and partner with physician and administrative leadership to implement best practices and innovative solutions. The Cardiovascular Lab Manager will help align lab operations with UF Health’s strategic goals, including advancing clinical excellence, supporting research and education where applicable, and enhancing patient experience. UF Health fosters a collaborative and inclusive culture that values diversity, open communication, and teamwork. As Cardiovascular Lab Manager, you will contribute to this culture by creating a supportive, respectful environment where staff feel empowered to speak up, share ideas, and pursue professional development. You will help integrate new technologies and practice changes, support orientation and training of learners where applicable, and champion patient-centered care that emphasizes dignity, safety, and compassion. This position is an on-site leadership role in Leesburg, Florida, best suited for an experienced cardiovascular professional with prior leadership or charge experience in a cath lab, EP lab, or cardiovascular procedural area. Candidates should bring strong clinical knowledge of cardiovascular procedures, demonstrated skills in team leadership and operations management, and a passion for advancing cardiovascular care in alignment with UF Health’s mission of groundbreaking medical advancements and compassionate care delivery. UF Health offers competitive compensation and a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and retirement benefits, within a supportive environment that encourages continuous learning and growth.
