Career Coach (County-Wide)

JOB DESCRIPTION Career Coach QUALIFICATIONS : Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Marketing, Communications, or a related field Experience working in the industry preferred Pleasing personality; enthusiastic, positive attitude, evidence or trustworthiness; knowledge in business and industry; effective human relations skills Ability to pass a background check REPORTS TO : Career Tech Director JOB GOAL: To provide students with career guidance and information enabling them upon graduation to enter the job market or postsecondary education with well-developed skills, varied intellectual interests, and sufficient understanding and curiosity to continue their growth and maturation as workers and as individuals PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES : Represent the Career Coach Program in local high schools and conduct public relations efforts to promote the CTE Programs Provide career development guidance for high school students with an emphasis on technical programs Plan and implement student recruitment activities for technical programs Assist prospective students with career exploration activities and career assessments Assist prospective students with admissions, financial aid, and registration procedures for college Provide guidance to students regarding career choices Conduct high school classroom presentations promoting college and career programs and activities Provide prospective students with information regarding the current job market and trends in career choices Schedule and attend college campus tours and industry tours with high school students Coordinate job shadowing opportunities for students Maintain an ongoing database of students and classrooms that services are offered Comply with all policies of the LEA and the State Department of Education Performs such other tasks and assumes such other responsibilities as may from time to time be assigned by higher authority TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Terms of employment shall be consistent with the law relating to employment by a school system in the State of Alabama. Ten-month year, with a salary scale established by the Board for this position. EVALUATION: The performance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with provisions of the Board’s Policy on Evaluation of Support Personnel.
