Yes Profile of a Natick Educator JOB GOAL: The High School Career Counselor provides comprehensive, developmentally appropriate career and post-secondary planning services for students in grades 9–12. This role integrates direct student counseling, coordination of career-readiness programming, management of dual enrollment and work-based learning opportunities, and collaboration with external partners—including community colleges, employers, workforce development agencies, and local organizations. The Career Coordinator serves as a central resource for career pathway exploration, workforce preparation, and post-secondary planning, supporting all students in developing and achieving individualized college and career goals. This educator is committed to equity, collaboration, and a culture of inclusion. In the inaugural year of this role, the High School Career Counselor will work in collaboration with the School Counseling Administrator to develop a vision for schoolwide career-based programming that engages caregivers, students, and staff. Education and Licensure Requirements Required Education: Master's degree in School Counseling or a related field. Required Licensure: Massachusetts licensure as a School Counselor, Vocational Technical Coordinator, or in a related field. Qualifications At least five years of successful counseling, leadership or teaching experience at the high school level. Experience in high school counseling, career development, or workforce coordination Familiarity with MyCAP implementation, Naviance/SCOIR, ASVAB Career Portal, and other career pathways tools. Strong knowledge of career development, college admissions, workforce development, and post-secondary transition planning. Excellent organizational, interpersonal, presentation, and written/oral communication skills. Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively. Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and coordinate large-scale events. A demonstrated ability to learn new things quickly and maintain flexibility. Bilingual skills, particularly in Spanish and Portuguese, are highly desirable. Essential Duties 1.
