JOB DESCRIPTION – Career Life Coach (Montgomery DYS Campus) (Located at The Alabama Department of Youth Services in Mt. Meigs AL) Position : Career Life Coach (Part-time) Reports to : Director Purpose The Career Life Coach will play a pivotal role in advancing Hope Inspired Ministries’ (HIM) mission by providing comprehensive career and life coaching services to participants at the Alabama Department of Youth Services (DYS). Through HIM’s Recruit, Train, Employ™ model, the Career Life Coach will deliver holistic training to justice-involved youth—empowering them with the personal, social, and professional skills needed to succeed upon release. This position requires a passion for working with youth who have faced significant challenges. The Career Life Coach will teach life skills, job readiness, and character development while helping students overcome barriers such as lack of identification, limited support systems, or prior justice involvement. While this role primarily serves at the DYS campus, the Career Life Coach must be prepared to assist other HIM campuses or correctional institutions as needed to ensure consistent program delivery and participant support.Key Responsibilities Community Engagement Serve as a representative of HIM and a positive role model for DYS youth. Build strong partnerships with DYS staff, community organizations, employers, and volunteers to support youth reentry and employment opportunities. Motivate and inspire students through mentorship and accountability. Engage with employers to create second-chance employment opportunities for program graduates. Program Delivery Deliver classroom instruction and job readiness training inside the DYS facility, adapting methods to meet the learning needs of justice-involved youth.
