Job Summary We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Carpet Store Manager to lead our retail team and drive the success of our flooring business. Responsibilities Lead and supervise store staff, including hiring, training, coaching, and performance evaluations to foster a motivated and productive team. Oversee daily store operations such as opening and closing procedures, cash handling, and POS (Point of Sale) system management to ensure smooth transactions. Manage inventory control, purchasing, stocking, and merchandising to maintain an attractive and well-organized store environment. Develop and implement sales strategies to meet or exceed revenue targets while providing excellent customer service. Conduct employee orientation sessions, training & development programs, and facilitate effective communication across the team. Handle customer inquiries with professionalism using phone etiquette and ensure customer satisfaction through personalized service. Monitor store budget, pricing strategies, retail math calculations, and sales management metrics to optimize profitability. Coordinate marketing efforts and promotional activities to attract new customers and retain existing ones. Supervise shift management duties including scheduling staff shifts, overseeing cashiering activities, and ensuring compliance with safety standards. Maintain accurate bookkeeping records, payroll processing, and administrative documentation related to store operations. Qualifications Proven management experience in retail sales or store management roles with supervising responsibilities. Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment. Demonstrated proficiency in inventory management systems, POS technology, cash handling, and retail math calculations. Experience in recruiting, interviewing candidates, employee orientation, training & development programs. Knowledge of merchandising techniques, pricing strategies, marketing initiatives, and budgeting processes. Previous assistant manager or supervisory experience within a grocery or flooring retail setting is preferred. Strong leadership qualities with a focus on team management, customer service excellence, and operational oversight.
