Front Counter Associate / Cashier PARA – Encinitas, CA Pay: $18.50/hour + tips Overview PARA is looking for friendly, energetic, and customer-focused team members to join our coffee shop team as Front Counter Associates. At PARA, hospitality and kindness are at the center of everything we do, and we’re known for creating a warm and welcoming experience for every guest who walks through our doors. In this role, you’ll be the face of the coffee shop — taking customer orders, providing exceptional service, preparing pastries/orders for guests, and helping maintain the clean and aesthetic environment PARA is known for. We’re looking for individuals who are positive, dependable, detail-oriented, and excited to work in a fast-paced coffee shop setting. Responsibilities Greet customers warmly and provide outstanding customer service Take customer orders accurately using the Clover POS system Become knowledgeable about the full PARA menu, including drinks, pastries, and specialty items Answer customer questions and make recommendations when needed Prepare and hand out pastries, drinks, and customer orders efficiently Maintain a clean and organized front counter and café environment Clean tables and assist with general café upkeep throughout shifts Handle cash, card, and digital payments accurately and responsibly Work collaboratively with the team to ensure smooth daily operations Help create a welcoming, positive, and hospitable atmosphere for all guests Requirements Previous cashier, café, or customer service experience is preferred but not required Friendly, professional, and positive attitude Strong communication and multitasking skills Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced, high-volume café environment while maintaining a positive attitude and excellent customer service Willingness to learn the PARA menu and Clover POS system Dependable, punctual, and team-oriented Passion for hospitality and creating meaningful customer experiences Flexible availability, including weekends, is a plus Why Work at PARA?
