Overview: We are seeking a detail-oriented cashier to join our family business. As a cashier, you will play a key role in providing excellent customer service and ensuring smooth transactions at the checkout counter. Must be 21 years of age or older due to cigarette sales. You will be expected to also complete a paper application. Responsibilities: Greet customers entering the establishment Scan items, provide pricing, and accept payments using a Point of Sale (POS) system Maintain a clean and organized checkout area and show floor Assist customers with inquiries and resolve any issues promptly Handle cash, credit, and check transactions accurately Prepare fudge, ice cream, milkshake, and fountain soda orders for customers Handle fuel/gasoline pump sales by pre-pay on the Point of Sale (POS) system Ensure items for sale are stocked and organized Requirements: Proven experience in cash handling and customer service Familiarity with POS systems and retail math Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Excellent time management abilities to handle peak hours and off-peak hours efficiently Knowledge of phone etiquette for handling customer inquiries professionally Ability to work in a fast-paced environment at times while maintaining accuracy Previous experience as a cashier is a plus Knowledge of cigarette brands/types is a plus This position requires the ability to stand for prolonged periods of time.
