Cat Caretaker

Duties include: Feeding and caring for cats and kittens Helping to maintain a clean facility and safe environment for cats which includes the use of veterinary-grade disinfectants and cleaning products Responsibilities include: Feed, groom (including clipping claws) Clean cages and scoop litter boxes Thoroughly clean the cat care areas of the facility Interact with all the cats to provide comfort and social interaction Soothe upset or frightened animals Observe animal behavior or health conditions and report to the Executive Director or Operations Manager Help in cases of emergencies Keep accurate records and logs Requirements and Skills: Current or former pet ownership is an advantage Excellent communication skills Ability to work as a member of a team Ability to manage time and attend to details in a fast-paced sometimes hectic environment Patient and caring personality Punctual and reliable Ability to follow instructions and procedures properly Comfortable being around cats with different personalities and social skills Ability to meet the physical demands of the job (e.g., lift up to 30lbs., climb a narrow spiral staircase, reach into cages) Flexibility to work additional shifts as needed Ability to pass a background check High school diploma or GED is required Reliable vehicle with insurance Live in/relocate to Santa Fe Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour Benefits On-the-job training Opportunities for advancement Paid training Work Location: In person
