The Role The Category Manager plays a critical role in Seadrill’s Supply Chain organization, responsible for developing and executing category management and strategic sourcing strategies that deliver optimal total cost of ownership, supplier performance, and value across the business. Reporting to the Head of Category Management , this role operates with a high degree of autonomy and partners closely with Engineering, Operations, Finance, Legal, and Project teams to support Seadrill’s operational and strategic objectives. Key Responsibilities Develop and implement category strategies that drive cost savings and process optimization Lead sourcing events, including tender preparation, evaluation, and contract negotiation Manage supplier relationships and performance programs for strategic vendors Analyze spend trends and develop pricing and total‑cost‑of‑ownership strategies Drive vendor consolidation and global supply chain standardization Monitor market trends and proactively address supply risks and opportunities Support policy, process, and contract governance initiatives Lead supplier meetings and support change management for new suppliers Mentor team members and contribute to continuous improvement projects What We’re Looking For Required 5+ years’ experience in category management or strategic sourcing Strong negotiation, stakeholder management, and commercial judgment skills High proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint) Experience using Power BI, Oracle Procurement, or spend‑management tools Preferred Background in offshore drilling, oil & gas, or capital‑intensive industries Experience managing contracts, suppliers, and multi‑category sourcing portfolios Qualifications Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering , or related field Why Join Seadrill?
