Performance Foodservice, a leading national food distributor delivering over 150,000 food and food-related products to customers across the United States, is seeking a safety-focused CDL A Delivery Driver Extraboard to join our Transportation & Logistics team. In this role, you will support our Food & Beverage Operations by running a flexible, variable schedule and covering multiple routes and regions as business needs change. As an Extraboard driver, you’ll be a key member of a team-oriented environment where innovation, reliability, and exceptional customer service are highly valued. You will safely operate a Class A commercial vehicle to deliver food and restaurant supplies to a wide range of customers—from family-owned restaurants to nationwide chains—often making multiple stops per day. Responsibilities include conducting thorough pre- and post-trip inspections, following all DOT and company safety policies, accurately loading, unloading, and securing product, and using lift gates, pallet jacks, and hand trucks to complete deliveries. You will verify orders with customers, obtain proper signatures, handle returns, and ensure product is delivered accurately, on time, and in good condition. The Extraboard schedule requires flexibility to work different routes, start times, and overnight assignments, with occasional layovers and weekend or holiday work as needed. You will interact directly with customers on a daily basis, representing Performance Foodservice with professional, courteous service and clear communication. This position requires the physical ability to lift, move, and stack cases—often up to 50–75 pounds—and to work in various environments, including coolers, freezers, and outdoor conditions, while maintaining safety and productivity standards.
