Duties Safely operate tractor-trailers with manual transmissions across extensive OTR routes, adhering to all federal and state regulations. Transport a variety of freight types including refrigerated goods, flatbed loads, tankers, and roll-off containers. Load and unload cargo using forklifts or other equipment when necessary, ensuring secure and damage-free deliveries. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to verify vehicle safety and compliance with DOT standards. Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, delivery records, and route documentation for compliance and efficiency. Plan optimal routes for timely deliveries while managing route driving challenges effectively. Communicate proactively with dispatch teams regarding delivery status, delays, or issues encountered on the road. Requirements Valid CDL A license with a clean driving record and proven experience in commercial driving. Demonstrated proficiency in driving manual transmission trucks and operating various truck types such as flatbeds, tankers, refrigerated trailers, dump trucks, and roll-off trucks. Prior experience in freight transportation with a focus on load & unload procedures and route driving. Ability to handle physically demanding tasks including forklift operation for loading/unloading cargo. Strong knowledge of safety regulations related to tractor-trailer operations and long-distance driving. Excellent navigation skills with the ability to plan efficient routes across multiple states or regions. Must be comfortable working independently during extended trips away from home.
