EXAMPLE OF DUTIES ThispositionmonitorsthedeliveryofhealthcareservicesprovidedtoColoradooffenderscontractuallyhousedinprivate prison facilities; this may include out-of-state facilities. This position Serves as the liaison to CDOC Human Resources, Training Academy, and Labor Relations Unit for Clinical Services new employee interview process, onboarding, and training program; clinical staff recruitment and retention programs; and employee engagement with the Labor Management Committee. Monitor allocation expenditure of assigned contracts and ensure compliance with State fiscal guidelines. Liaison with all medical contract (agency) contracts. This position reports to the Chief of Medical Services.This position is responsible for, but not limited to, the following: Monitor clinical operations of multiple work units and act as a liaison between the DOC and the private prison health care staff;Provide professional health care oversight of the private facilities by monitoring contractual compliance, clinical operations and DOC clinical policy and procedures;Audit health care files and conduct on-site visits to ensure that services provided are consistent with quality of care parameters, standards of care, and DOC clinical policy, standards and procedures and reports the outcomes of audits;Ensure contract staff compliance with the offender grievance process and offender co-pay;Serve as the point of contact for medical inquiries and corresponds within the required time frames;Provide detailed information to the Chief Medical Officer (CMO), Associate Director of PPMU, Regional Health Services Administrator, and the Quality Assurance Administrator for all sentinel events, infectious outbreaks, deaths, and reportable incidents (AR 100-7);Assist with medical clearance of offenders housed at a private prison and clearing offenders for interstate compact movement;Attend DOC Clinical Services meetings to ensure contract compliance and relays information to the private prison Health Service Administrator's to provide technical guidance and direction;Monitor and assurance of compliance with the Quality Management Program (AR 700-10) consistent with ACA guidelines;Provide recommendations and observations for training specific to identified areas of non compliance;Ensure that private prison clinical staff comply with all electronic data entry and information system requirements;Interview offenders housed in correctional facilities throughout the state;Perform on-call and call back functions;Frequent in-state travel to include biweekly visits to each private prison is required for the position.
