job summary This role supports the clients Oracle Health and Cerner Millennium ecosystem across multiple clinical domains. The Systems Architect provides general Cerner architecture expertise with a focus on system design, integrations, and enterprise standardization. This resource supports hospital construction, optimization, and migration initiatives and partners closely with clinical, technical, and business stakeholders to deliver scalable solutions. location: Telecommute job type: Contract salary: $70 - 90 per hour work hours: 8am to 5pm education: Bachelors responsibilities: Key Responsibilities Provide general Cerner Millennium architectural knowledge Support discovery and high-level solution design for Cerner initiatives Design scalable solutions across multiple Cerner domains Support multi-hospital standardization strategies Collaborate with domain owners, clinical teams, and IT partners Design and document interface and integration requirements Create architecture artifacts and data flow diagrams Identify architectural risks and recommend mitigation strategies Solid integration knowledge (HL7, SFTP, API, etc.) qualifications Desired General Cerner Skillset Strong general Cerner Millennium architecture knowledge Proficient in multiple Cerner modules (i.e. Radiology, Emergency Dept, Provider Documentation, Orders, Nursing, Core, CareAware, Surgery, etc.) Strong understanding of cross-module dependencies Cerner Integration Experience Health Connect interface engine experience HL7 v2.x message structures (ORM, ORU, RDE, ADT) Solid understanding of SFTP integrations API-based integration experience FHIR API experience Architecture & Design Skills Multi-hospital standardization strategy Interface requirement documentation Data flow diagram creation Risk identification and mitigation Ability to translate clinical workflows into technical design Data and Reporting Skills CCL (Cerner Command Language) Discern Analytics Oracle Unified Analytics Nice to Have Experience migrating hospitals to Cerner Experience supporting acquisitions and system conversions Experience with cloud-hosted Cerner Millennium environments Strong workflow analysis skills Ability to communicate effectively with both clinical and technical teams Experience Requirements 8+ years overall systems or architecture experience Strong Cerner Millennium experience required Experience working in large, complex healthcare organizations preferred Education Bachelor's degree required (related field) Advanced degree preferred Equal Opportunity Employer: Race, Color, Religion, Sex, Sexual Orientation, Gender Identity, National Origin, Age, Genetic Information, Disability, Protected Veteran Status, or any other legally protected group status.
