Job Title: Certified Mastectomy Fitter Department: Retail Medical Boutique Location: Cordova, TN Employment Type: Part-Time We are seeking a compassionate, professional, and detail-oriented Certified Mastectomy Fitter to provide personalized fitting services and post-surgical support for patients who have undergone mastectomy, lumpectomy, or other breast-related surgeries. The ideal candidate will help patients regain confidence and comfort by properly fitting breast prostheses, post-surgical garments, compression wear, and mastectomy bras while delivering exceptional customer care in a supportive and confidential environment. Key Responsibilities Conduct professional mastectomy fittings in accordance with industry standards and physician prescriptions. Measure and fit patients for breast prostheses, mastectomy bras, post-surgical garments, and compression products. Educate patients on product use, care instructions, and post-operative garment options. Maintain patient confidentiality and provide compassionate emotional support during fittings. Verify insurance eligibility and assist with documentation for reimbursement and billing purposes. Maintain accurate patient records and fitting documentation. Coordinate with physicians, case managers, and healthcare providers as needed. Ensure inventory levels are maintained for prosthetics, bras, and related supplies. Assist with merchandising and maintaining a clean, welcoming boutique environment. Stay current on product knowledge, fitting techniques, and compliance standards. Participate in continuing education and maintain certification requirements. Qualifications Current Certified Mastectomy Fitter credential required (ABC or BOC preferred). High school diploma or equivalent required; medical office or healthcare experience preferred. Previous experience in durable medical equipment (DME), women’s health, oncology support, or retail medical fitting preferred. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to demonstrate empathy, professionalism, and discretion with patients. Knowledge of insurance verification and medical documentation preferred. Proficient in basic computer systems and electronic documentation. Ability to stand for extended periods and assist patients with fittings. Preferred Skills Experience working with post-surgical and oncology patients. Knowledge of compression garments and lymphedema products. Familiarity with Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance guidelines. Work Environment Boutique and/or clinical setting. Direct patient interaction in private fitting rooms.
