Job Overview Join our dedicated healthcare team as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) working the overnight shift from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. in a vibrant, patient-centered environment. In this vital role, you will provide compassionate, hands-on care to patients across various settings, including long-term care, acute care, and specialized units such as ICU, emergency, and behavioral health. Your energy and attention to detail will ensure our patients receive the highest quality of care while fostering a safe and supportive atmosphere for both residents and staff. Duties Deliver direct patient care by assisting with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, feeding, and mobility support using equipment like Hoyer lifts. Monitor vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature; accurately document findings in electronic health record (EHR) systems like Epic or Cerner. Support medication administration under supervision, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and aseptic techniques. Assist with specialized care needs such as catheter care, dementia and Alzheimer's care, memory support, and working with individuals with developmental disabilities or behavioral health conditions. Maintain a safe environment by adhering to infection control protocols, using personal protective equipment (PPE), and practicing proper aseptic techniques during procedures. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams in medical-surgical units, ICU, emergency departments, or outpatient clinics to coordinate patient care plans. Engage in patient education and provide compassionate emotional support to patients and their families during critical or post-acute phases of recovery. Requirements Valid CNA certification in good standing; prior experience working as a CNA in hospital medicine, long-term care, assisted living, or similar settings is highly preferred. Demonstrated experience with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, or eClinicalWorks for accurate medical documentation. Knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and vital signs monitoring essential for delivering effective patient service. Experience working with diverse populations including pediatrics, geriatrics, individuals with disabilities or dementia-related conditions. Ability to perform physically demanding tasks including lifting patients with Hoyer lifts and standing for extended periods during overnight shifts. Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations and commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality at all times. Critical care experience such as ICU or trauma center exposure is a plus; familiarity with infectious disease care and hospice settings is advantageous. Certification in basic life support (BLS) required; additional certifications like phlebotomy or DME knowledge are beneficial.
