Responsibilities Provide direct patient care by assisting with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, feeding, and mobility support using equipment like Hoyer lifts and other assistive devices. Monitor vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature; accurately document findings using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems like Epic or Cerner. Support medication administration under supervision, ensuring proper techniques and adherence to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy. Assist with specialized care needs such as catheter care, wound dressing changes, Alzheimer's and dementia care, memory care, and behavioral health support. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in various settings including acute care units like ICU or Level I Trauma Centers, outpatient clinics, home & community care environments, and pediatric units such as PICU or pediatric clinics. Maintain aseptic techniques during procedures to prevent infection; follow strict protocols for infectious disease care and sterile procedures. Support documentation of medical records and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations; update patient charts accurately using EMR systems like eClinicalWorks or Cerner. Experience Previous experience working in diverse healthcare environments such as hospitals (including ICU or emergency medicine), nursing homes, assisted living facilities, or home care settings is highly preferred. Critical care experience including Level II trauma centers or Level I trauma centers enhances your ability to handle complex patient needs confidently. Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and basic life support (BLS) certification is essential for providing safe patient care. Experience working with individuals with disabilities or developmental disabilities; familiarity with dementia or Alzheimer's care adds value to your caregiving skills. Hands-on experience with medical-surgical procedures, pediatrics (including PICU), hospice or palliative care is advantageous. Demonstrated ability to work effectively within EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner; proficiency in medical documentation ensures seamless communication within healthcare teams.
