Job Summary Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA), where you will play a vital role in helping patients regain independence and improve their quality of life. In this energetic and rewarding position, you will collaborate closely with occupational therapists to implement personalized care plans across various settings, including inpatient units, outpatient clinics, skilled nursing facilities, and home health environments. Your expertise in assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs), understanding of medical terminology, and compassionate patient care will drive positive outcomes for diverse patient populations, from pediatrics to geriatrics. Responsibilities Assist patients with activities of daily living such as dressing, grooming, feeding, and mobility to promote independence and safety. Implement treatment plans designed by occupational therapists, adapting interventions based on patient progress and needs. Support patients in various settings including inpatient units, outpatient clinics, skilled nursing facilities, and home health visits. Monitor patient responses to therapy sessions, documenting progress and communicating updates to the supervising therapist. Educate patients and their families on therapeutic exercises, adaptive techniques, and safety measures for home or community settings. Maintain accurate records of patient care activities, treatment outcomes, and adherence to care plans in compliance with healthcare regulations. Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care and optimal recovery outcomes. Experience Prior experience assisting with ADLs in clinical or home health environments is highly preferred. Demonstrated familiarity with acute care, inpatient settings, outpatient clinics, or skilled nursing facilities enhances your suitability for this role. Experience working with diverse populations including pediatrics and geriatrics is advantageous. Knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and occupational health principles is essential for effective patient support. Proven ability to develop and follow detailed care plans while demonstrating excellent patient care skills is required. Previous exposure to medical imaging or specialized therapy environments adds value but is not mandatory.
